Title:  Industrial Painter

Position:  Industrial Painter
Description: 
Under the direction of the Department Supervisor and in collaboration with production team members, the Industrial Painter is responsible for painting trailer chassis, axles, air tanks, and miscellaneous components according to specifications and production schedules. This role plays a critical part in ensuring product quality, durability, and safety.

**Essential Duties & Responsibilities**
* Paint trailer frames and components according to established specifications and production schedules
* Apply primer and topcoat using hand-held spray guns or mechanized coating equipment
* Inspect painted surfaces for drips, runs, gouges, or defects and correct as needed
* Mask areas not requiring paint and ensure proper surface preparation
* Mix paints and thinners per specification sheets using automated paint mixing equipment
* Tack or buff out primer runs when possible
* Perform touch-ups and paint small items using brushes
* Clean and maintain paint booth and painting equipment
* Ensure trailer frames are stable and secure on lifts prior to painting
* Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment in compliance with all safety procedures
* Demonstrate dependable attendance and punctuality

* Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with minimal supervision

 **Work Environment & Safety**
* Exposure to moving mechanical parts
* Moderate noise levels
* Required use of PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, safety boots with metatarsal guards, Tyvek suit, and respiratory protection

Requirements: 
**Education & Experience**
* High school diploma or GED required
* Recent, relevant experience in an **industrial paint department** required

**Skills & Abilities**
* Ability to read and understand work instructions, specifications, and safety guidelines
* Basic math skills including fractions, decimals, and accurate measuring to 1/32"
* Common-sense problem-solving skills in standardized production environments
* No computer skills required

**Physical Requirements**
* Ability to stand and work on concrete floors for 8–12 hours per day, 4–6 days per week
* Frequently lift, push, pull, and carry up to **70 lbs**
* Regular bending, twisting, squatting, kneeling, crawling, and reaching above/below shoulder level
* Ability to work in a heavy industrial environment with exposure to heat, cold, noise, fumes, dust, chemicals, and vibration
* Must meet health requirements for respirator use
